Beauséjour is the time of our lives — and age does not matter! When energy, optimism, and the urge for self-expression sweep away all inner barriers and burst outward in a dazzling fountain of emotion, we fall in love with the world all over again. And, at the same time, with its current young and magnificent favorites.

Extraordinary dance technique and striking acting skill, a gripping soundtrack by pioneers of the electronic reinvention of tango — Müller & Makaroff musique — and the production’s deep philosophical undertone draw the audience into an exhilarating battle of generations.

The young versus the old. The elders challenge the youth. Everyone mixes together: lifting one another, forming fleeting intergenerational couples — just for a moment, just for a few steps of tango. The audience laughs. To the accompaniment of tango, a light breeze of nostalgic tenderness sweeps across the stage. Mourad Merzouki plays with the spirit of the music hall, while the performance’s vibrant, sparkling energy leaves the audience utterly captivated.
"Beauséjour is an utopia where the past is reborn through memory and the present is lived through bodies that are uneven, rounded, and stooped. It is a true choreographic challenge for the dancers, who must master a new physical language and embody unfamiliar characters — far removed from their usual stage roles. From these touching figures, who fully embrace their individuality, a new understanding of beauty emerges — universal, beyond age and generations."
"Nostalgia and joie de vivre, youth and old age, restraint and abundance of dancers, tango and hip-hop — Mourad Merzouki achieves a perfect balance and fusion of genres in his new work Beauséjour."
"Beauséjour plays with light, scenography, remarkable dancers transformed through makeup and movement, poetic texts, and a compelling soundtrack… Everything comes together and resonates in a truly magical way."

"At once virtuosic, incredibly alive, bursting with contagious energy, funny — and absolutely unmissable!"
