In Nomadic, choreographer Hu Shenyuan transforms the dance of eternal journey into a modern, almost cinematic exploration of inner states: loss, search, freedom… It is a voyage without a map, where the dancer’s body becomes the guide and emotions shape the surrounding landscape.

Hu Shenyuan does not delve into the literal development of national motifs; instead, he weaves together earthbound folk movement with the airy expressiveness of contemporary dance. From this fusion emerges a distinctive physical poetry: a gesture gains the weight of a word, a sequence of steps becomes a confession. The music creates a modern sonic landscape, reflecting inner storms and moments of calm.

This production has become a signature work of HUHU Dance. Mesmerizing and deeply resonant, it reimagines the cultural codes of ancient peoples through contemporary choreography and speaks to anyone searching for their own path and reflecting on the choices that shape it.
"Some people are willing to give up everything to become nomads — to taste freedom and solitude, to dream of the carnival of life, while impatiently awaiting the final point of a lost journey."
"Expect sculptural physicality and concentrated drama, as the dancers lead the audience on an immersive journey."
"…Hu added ethnic hue to the production, incorporating rhythms of Mongolian ethnic groups and shrugs — one of their signature dance movements — as well as traditional Korean steps."
